You’ll find the ALBERTINA Museum at the heart of Vienna’s inner city between the State Opera, Kärntnerstraße, and the Vienna Hofburg.
The main entrance is on the bastion of the former Vienna city wall, which you can reach via either an escalator or a lift.
The museum shop and the DO&CO Restaurant can be accessed without a museum ticket.

  • BARRIER-FREE ACCESS

All public areas of the museum can be accessed by people with disabilities.

Please consult our floor plan for people with disabilities here.

    Parking
There are handicapped parking spaces on Albertinaplatz (across from the tourist information kiosk, behind the taxi stand) as well as on the entire right-hand side of Gluckgasse and at Lobkowitzplatz 2.

The level-access main entrance is through a heavy, double swinging door (swings outward, clearance width 190 cm). An exterior lift takes you from the street level to the level of the main entrance.

    Tickets
The ticket desks are on the same level as the entrance. Wheelchair users are welcome to proceed to the front of the queue. Please ask about discounts for visitors with disabilities and those accompanying them. An individual accompanying someone who is blind or in a wheelchair may enter free of charge.

Wheelchairs and walking aids may be borrowed free of charge at the main cloakroom, with a personal ID card as a deposit.

    Seeing-eye dogs and assistance dogs
Bringing along a certified seeing-eye dog or assistance dog is permitted (please present the animal’s identification document upon arrival). Please contact us in advance so that we can help make sure your visit runs as smoothly as possible.

    Lifts and stair lifts
You can reach the ALBERTINA Museum’s main entrance from the street via the exterior lift or via the escalator.
Inside the ALBERTINA Museum, there are two lifts: The cloakroom lift (doorway width: 110 cm, cabin dimensions: 200 x 110 cm) will take you to the handicapped-accessible toilet facilities on Level -1 as well as to the free cloakroom lockers there.
The exhibition lift (doorway widths: 150 cm and 130 cm, cabin dimensions: 270 x 260 cm) connects you with all of the exhibition areas. This lift also enables you to reach the handicapped-accessible toilet on Level 1.

Some rooms in the exhibition areas are at different floor levels; these can be reached via stair lifts (capacity max. 285 kg). For operation you need a Euro key, which we will gladly provide if required. The stair lifts should not be used with electric wheelchairs. Standard wheelchairs can be borrowed at the main cloakroom.
